Job Description
Data Quality Analyst
£42K
Bristol
Within the organisations centre of excellence in Bristol you will be supporting the Solvency II Development enhancing controls & process around the data quality. Self motivated and project orientated this is an excellent role for someone with developed analytical & data processing skills.
This role will initially include supporting the implementation of data control framework, identifying/resolving data issues and assisting in the overall support of the delivery of new data items as required.This role is expected to develop once the initial work has been completed, with an eye to the idea candidate going on to supporting the placement of new process & controls within the business to ensure the continued integrity of data according to the requirements of the data framework.
The core of the role will be to provide an accurate, regular and adhoc business intelligence service on Data Quality, through the effective use of a structured data warehouse platform, analysing and developing complex management information and producing high quality, technically complex work within tight deadlines whilst indentifying potential opportunities for the business to derive value from customer data.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
1. To support key regulatory development in data quality eg Solvency II
2. Full review and audit of key data items within organisational systems eg CPAS, P142
3. Development of an automated BAU process that complies with Solvency II requirements via a centralised data quality tool.
4. Assist with the development and population of a Data Directory
5. Support the transfer of knowledge from a 3rd party consultancy
6. Recommend actions and routes to remediate any data quality issues identified.
7. Develop Dashboard MI and analysis to deliver greater insight into key data quality issues highlighting material impacts on modelling and financial results. Develop the Portal, publish static reports.
8. Work closely with the Data Warehouse team to foster a single team approach, promote consistency and enforce efficiencies in analysis jobs.
9. Support the power users across the business in exploiting the Data Quality toolset, ensuring that consistencies of definitions are maintained.
10. Own and resolve reconciliation issues where conflicting MI or definitions exist. Maintain data dictionaries and consistency of definition of metrics to deliver data quality.
11. Carry out robust internal reconciliation throughout the warehouse and to external sources to ensure and promote confidence. Maintain meticulous report accuracy and resolve where incorrect.
12. Self motivated & able to manage own time effectively, and be responsible for own personal development, proactively looking for stretch opportunities.

Excellent IT skills Microsoft Office to an advanced standard (with VBA experience preferable) & Intermediate SAS Programming or SQL orientated skills.
Understanding of the business' strategy, functional structure, data sources and use of customer information.
