Full Description:
New care home based in Backwell. To enable service users to lead a valued and fulfilling life and to maximise the potential capacity of all service users, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

Method

To work in accordance with my Client’s philosophy of care and its Policies and Procedures.

To work in accordance with the ethos and guidelines of ‘Valuing People’.

Main Tasks

• To assist in the day-to-day support requirements regarding the service user’s daily lives
• To ensure that high standards of care and support are maintained, adhereing to all requirements and regulations within the Registered Homes Act 1984.
• To work as part of a staff team in a constructive and supportive manner and attend regular staff meetings.
• To work within a flexible rota system adapted to meet the need of individuals living in the home.
• To take a pro-active and innovative approach to supporting service users, maximising their potential by enabling them to engae in meaningful activities and opportunities.

Supporting Service Users

• To function as a keyworker within the team, taking particular responsibility for an individual, ensuring Reviews, Care Plans, and Risk Assessments are carried out and reviewed according to policy and need.
• To be aware of, and work towards, meeting agreed Packages of Care for all individual service users.
• To support service users’ to attain and maintain good standards of hygiene and personal care, providing assistance as appropriate.
• To maintain a positive approach to supporting a valued lifestyle, the individuality and autonomy of service users’, contributing to the on-going assessment, planning and implementation of behavioural guidelines and skills learning programmes.
• To assist in ensuring service users are supported to go on an annual holiday.

Supporting the Service Provision

• To contribute to the overall cleaning of the home and involve the service users’ in these tasks as appropriate.
• To be vigilant to the health and safety of service users, visitors, colleagues and others.
• To accurately maintain all records as required by the Home Manager, Deputy Manager and Senior Staff.
• To have a working knowledge of all Policies, Procedures and guidelines within the Company.

Professional Development

• To undertake and pursue own professional development and training.
• To work with the management of the home to ensure that own mandatory training is kept up to date and to access additional training appropriate to own development.
