Full Description:
M&E QS, Bristol, Building Services
Our client is one of the UK's leading Building Engineering Services with 22 locations around the country divided into 3 main regions. 19 of these office locations operate design and build contracting providing solutions for PFI, Prime Contracting, Framework strategic alliances and partnerships. This unit of the business group contributes £175M towards the total annual turnover of the company.
One of the contracts the client is servicing is for Barclays Bank providing new build (M&E), M&E refurbishment and M&E maintenance.
Due to the vast extent of this contract and the increasing volume of work the Measuring team in Bristol are seeking a new measuring quantity surveyor. At present the Measuring team consists of two senior quantity surveyors who are looking to take on a measuring QS who has some experience or a trainee person who they can train.

You will be assisting the current measuring team in creating cost reports of materials refereing to the National Schedule of Rates. You will be working on the Barclays Bank contract and will be required to liaise with project managers and suppliers.
Ideally applicants will have some experience within the building services industry and will ideally have previously carried out M&E estimating and/or measuring term contracts based on the NSR (National Schedule of Rates).
For those who do not have a background in building services a keen interest in quantity surveying is required, as is the desire to learn.
It is vital that all candidates are highly competent in mathematics as well as having good computer skills, particularly in excel.

This role would be ideal for a trainee as there is plenty of opportunity to progress your own career with a market leader.
There is flexibility for either full time or part-time employment (salary would be pro-rata).
Full training if required
