CNC Machinist - Setter/Operator


Overview
Working within a busy machine shop of a market leading engineering company.
Salary: £23,602.80 per annum. Plenty of overtime at time and a half and double time available. Will be working a three shift pattern with 22% - 35% shift premiums. Potential to earn over £30k+. Benefits include 23 days holiday, private healthcare, company pension and gym membership.

Responsibilities
Set, operate and run CNC machines, which include - CNC Lathes and 5 axis mills (and occasionally manual lathe work).
Set tool and jigs/fixtures (check M/C set up).
Modify programs as required (offsets and parameters).
Program components at machine as required.
Download programs from master file server.
Load raw material on machines and run programme.
Able to use micrometers, verniers and other inspection equipment to check work to drawing dimensions.
Maintain Machine Centre, to daily/weekly maintenance plan.

Qualifications/Experience

With an indentured apprenticeship, candidates must also possess a good understanding of general machining practices and be competent at reading and understanding engineering drawings. Knowledge of CNC machining is essential (Lathes and Mills).

This role essentially requires someone who is able to work with initiative, and works well as part of a team. Candidates should also work well under pressure, be prepared to help others and possess good housekeeping skills.

Hours
3 shift pattern (flexible).
06.00am - 2.00pm
2.00pm - 10.00pm (with a 22% shift premium).
10.00pm - 06.00am (with a 35% shift premium).
