| Our clients have a fantastic opportunity for a General Manager (Store Manager) to run their busy superstore in Bristol Job Purpose: To deliver the financial objectives for the store by delivering a team that provides quality standards and customer solutions to ensure the store and company becomes number one locally. To attract more business and power consumers at the same time as appealing to and serving the casual consumer. Responsibilities: - Understand the needs of the local business and power consumer and ensure that our offer is targeted to deliver their needs. - Develop relationships in the local business community through in-store marketing and canvassing - taking the store out of the store. - Ensure customer complaints are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. - Ensure high service standards throughout the year by using information gained from the Mystery Shop, customer forums and customer complaints to make continual improvements in store. - Encourage the exploitation of additional customer solutions such as the internet and delivery. - Recruit and retain appropriate people that will provide the level of service to support business, power and casual consumers. - Market the benefits, incentives and development opportunities of the business. - Identify the training and development needs of associates and provide the tools and support for succession planning. Provide evidence of appropriate training for all individuals in the store. - Comply with all processes, procedures and standards as directed by the Company in the HR, Standards, Loss Prevention and Recruitment manuals. - Ensure store compliance with retail and employment legislation. - Support the annual appraisal/PDP process and ensure that the performance of Associates is reviewed on a regular basis. - Regularly monitor and challenge progress against store financial plans taking corrective action where appropriate. - Continually strive to improve the stores performance through a principle of better for our customer, simpler for our associates and cheaper for our business. Knowledge, skills & experience: - Retail management experience. - Excellent communication skills - both oral and written. - Working knowledge of financial reports. - Organisation and analytical skills. - Ability to motivate and develop a team. - Ability to manage and resolve difficult situations.
