Overview
A world leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of a wide range of medical devices. The company is highly regarded in financial circles as a classic example of the true British success story.
A vacancy exists for a Supplier Engineer reporting to the Quality Manager within the Manufacturing Dept.

Key Responsibilities

Liaise with the purchasing team to monitor and report on the performance of key suppliers.
Maintain & progress supplier non-conformances/records via QPulse system.
Develop close working relationships with key suppliers and conduct regular Quality Review Meetings.
Introduce initiatives based on general supplier development/improvement.
Co-ordinate First Article Approval activities including: - identification of significant characteristics in conjunction with Development Department/Supplier, communication of requirements to suppliers, conducting verification activities in line with company procedures.
Lead the creation of creation of Quality Control Plans and monitor supplier adherence.
Investigative activities relating to non-conforming bought in products.
Representative at New Product Introduction Meetings for supplier quality related activities.
Deputise for both Quality Manager and Inspection Team Leader as required.
Provide technical support & appropriate training/guidance to Goods Inwards Inspection personnel.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical engineering background, preferably within a Medical Device, Aerospace (or similar) environment.

Hands on experience in the use and application of measuring/inspection equipment.
Will be capable of making quick informed decisions.
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Working knowledge of a second European language would be advantageous.
Knowledge of materials and ability to locate and interpret relevant data.
Will demonstrate a good working knowledge of Engineering Drawings and associated Technical Specifications.

This position would suit a quality engineer with a background in medical devices or similar.
