My exclusive Bristol based client is urgently looking for an experienced IT Procurement Manager to join a busy IT Procurement and sourcing team on a contract basis until the end of 2012 initially.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record with demonstrable successes, specifically within IT Procurement, including tender exercises and some outsourced services.

You will be required to;
- Help manage day to day procurement and sourcing issues and assist with the smooth running of the department.
- Support the IT Sourcing/Procurement Strategy, including contributing to the regular review and update of Strategy.
-To review and improve existing procurement procedures in IT, with a particular view to ensuring procedures are focused on efficiency, minimising the transaction cost of procurement activity.
-To support the IT Business Planning processes in relation to the contribution of procurement activities.
-To take a lead in all procurement activity of a specific type (hardware, software, services).

An understanding of the specifics of IT procurement covering hardware, software, services, and outsourcing is required. A relevant qualification is also required and CIPS membership, or progression towards CIPS membership is preferred.

The ability to negotiate requirements with management and terms and conditions with suppliers is a must also. The ability to manage and communicate with multinational teams is essential.
